A Message from the Editor

Dear Adventurers,

We've all been through so much.  Whether surviving meteorological or economic storms, Adventure Motorcycle Magazine is for readers and riders who wish to point themselves towards a different tomorrow.  As creators of our own futures, adversity is an opportunity to expand ourselves while we inspire - and are inspired by - those around us who have taken the risks and often unavoidable blows that come with being the pioneers of any field or endeavor.

Whether hitting distant dirt trails or getting lost in far away lands, we seek other places, times and landscapes to find ourselves in stark contrast to the usual surroundings.  Overly familiar office cubicles, shopping malls, computer screens and sometimes even our own homes, can become right-angled eyesores empelling us evermore into the great unknown.  Like our motorcycles, we come in all shapes, sizes and colors but have one common goal - to explore the world and, therefore, ourselves.

Adventure Motorcycle Magazine is an adventure itself.  As the fifth and newest editor, myself and the team have many great plans in store for the magazine on many levels from production to community involvement. With some of the world's best motorcycle travel writers on staff, spanning nearly every corner of the globe, there's always plenty of stories to tell and lessons to learn.  Great people, in great places, overcoming great challenges is our focus at Adventure Motorcycle and there's more!

We're lucky to be in one of the internationally fastest growing segments of the motorcycle industry.  Everyday riders like you and me draw lines on maps, charting courses to places they've never been and may never see again.  Of course, none of this would ever be possible if it wasn't for a world-wide network of individuals, businesses and numerous communities who do their best to make sure we get where we need to go and return home safely.  Even the staunchest of solo riders never arrives anywhere totally alone, which is why we, at Adventure Motorcycle, wish to give credit where credit is due and highlight some of the fine people and organizations who help make accomplishing our dreams a little easier.

We hope that you'll join us at Adventure Motorcycle Magazine and contribute your productive thoughts and comments as we traverse our own uncharted grounds.  Most importantly, no matter where, how or what you ride, please...

Ride Safe,Have Fun!

Today Black Dog Cycle Works (BDCW) Partner, Kurt Forgét, announced their new line of an all aircraft alloy foot pegs for KTM Adventure and dirt motorcycles.   Forgét stated, “From our experience, we recognized that having an enlarged foot peg provides the rider with greater control of the bike. It’s like adding power steering to the motorcycle.   The Adventure Foot Pegs are designed to provide the rider with greater foot comfort, bike control and made from an aircraft alloy to be ruggedly durable.   And we didn’t stop there, we even designed in a built in bottle opener to the bottom of each foot peg, so the rider can carry one less item and always have easy access to refreshments at the end of the day”.
